Fluffy Bums Annonymous

During my pregnancy with Squish, I joined a little community primarily based on Facebook. The group is formed of the loveliest bunch of girls I have ever had the pleasure of speaking to and we all have an addiction in common.

Fluff

Or to those not in the know, cloth nappies.

I never knew that some fabric that is placed on the bum of a baby could provide so much joy!
The main reason behind looking into fluff was purely for waste reduction purposes. Living in an apartment, I just didn't like the idea of nappies sat in the bin (the nappy bin was useless the first time around) and we don't have a great storage area for rubbish outside either.
(Obviously environmental issues were considered but I am not here to preach what is best for who)

Now Squish is 8 months old and I love our fluff more than ever. More than anything they make for some of the cutest photos. Cant say any disposable looks like this in a photo!

Ok, ok so this one was added purely for the cuteness factor but you can see the nappy peeking out in the corner!

As you can see they come in so many colours and prints. Tots bots do some of the prettiest fluff around, we had some of their story prints going back and as you can see they are just lush!

In the last couple of days I have brought a couple of nappies, one is the Limited Edition Tots Bots Gingerbread nappy and the other from the new Frugi release in Orchard.

Tots Bots - Gingerbread

Frugi - Orchard

From what I am aware, Gingerbread is more or less sold out. I brought via the Tots Bots site and they have most definitely sold out there.
As for the Frugi print, If you enter "JOLLY" at checkout you will receive a 20% discount. This discount was passed to me by a fellow fluff mummy, so I'm unsure as to how long it is running for.

You're likely to see a fair amount of OTB (On The Bum) pictures here and over on our instagram. If you have any questions about fluff let me know and maybe sometime in the future I can do a little Q&A on them. I'm by no means an expert but it may be helpful to some.

So keep an eye out, I'll be adding photos of the new fluff soon!

Munchkin Style || OOTN || Mister

Some days, Primark just gets it right. Ok, its not often and we all know how it can be a little hit and miss at times, but yesterday we found a winner in the form of this Sully from Monsters Inc onesie!

In the Hoggle household we are all secret onesie lovers and at 6 years old, Mister has a growing collection. I think at this moment in time, Sully is a clear favourite.
Mister says this onesie so very soft and "snugly" and he likes the sticky feet as it means he wont fall over. Seeing as we have carpet I'm pretty sure thats unlikely to happen, but he wanted you all to know anyway.
Another feature he likes are the spikes up the back. Very authentic Sully in my opinion!

Yesterday evening there was a race to get home and at 5pm Mister was in his new onesie and eager to get to bed and watch Monsters Inc on DVD.
I am now typing this at 10.45am and it has yet to come off. Thank goodness its half term as I'm sure he'd try to insist its appropriate school attire!

I picked this up for only £9 (absolute bargain!) in primark yesterday. The smallest size I found was 3 years and the largest 13 years. So for any last minute mum's trying to find a Halloween outfit, this could very well do the trick, it has feet but pop a pair of wellies over the top and the feet will make for the cosiest of socks!

Birthday Best Buys

Well Minxy's 4th birthday is rearing its expensive little head and I have been gathering ideas, making the odd purchase here and there. This week I have come across some great deals and here are a couple.

Toys R Us are doing a great deal at the moment, but hurry you only have until 6th November to take part in this offer. Spend over £100 and receive a £15 voucher (redeemable against purchases bought between 18th November and 1st December). You can shop online, click and collect or in-store, but can only spend your voucher via the method you purchased the original goods, e.g online, click and collect or in-store.

As you can see I have taken advantage of this offer and bought the Leap Pad Ultra (review to follow), plus a couple of games. The Leap pad Ultra retails £109.99 but is on special at £99.99 saving £10. The games are £19.97 each, but again its buy one get one half price saving £9.99. Finally with the £15 voucher that's a saving of almost £35! Not bad for a mornings shopping!

Asda is once again doing its special on toys; 2 for £10 or 2 for £20. Line up 4 and the Pony Playset would normally cost £13. Another small saving, but every penny counts when you have munchkins to please.

Obviously with the Christmas season upon us, there are plenty of deals floating around the stores, but its always worth sharing the one's you find, you never know who may have missed it!

Have you found any deals that are worth sharing recently?

Munchkin Crafts || Pumpkin Decorating

Last year on a local selling board, we entered Minxy and Mister into a pumpkin competition. It was aimed at children and yet as we flicked through the pictures we noticed a continuing theme. Each child had help with their carvings.
So we decided our entry would be a little different.
Instead of actually carving the pumpkin, we let the munchkins loose with the contents of their craft box.
This was the end result...

(Apologies for the poor quality but I had to pull this off of Facebook)

We can say very proudly that we were completely over the moon when the above won the Munchkins first prize in the competition. Everyone agreed that in a  competition for children, they were the only ones who created their designs all by themselves!
So this year we decided they could do the same. They're still too young to attack any kind of object with a sharp knife so its the safest option and they have such great fun with it!

And of course no creative session is complete without a little mess...

The pumpkins will go up on display at home for Halloween.

The following day, all pumpkins are placed on the garden table and that night the witches go from house to house collecting Halloween pumpkins to use in their magic spells...

Munchkin Moments || Minxy

Tonight Minxy shared her last Wotsit with me then said "I want to you marry me my mummy" Lots of explanations, but not just now!

Undoing Minxy's seat belt after a fun filled and blustery trip to Asda...."Minxy are you sniffing my arm?" "Yes mummy" She replies without batting an eyelid. "You smell like sunscreen". Really must check the label on bliss body butter for SFP :)

Watch this Space!

Last blog for the night....just a small announcement....

We will be taking a look at a few beauty products samples we have received recently and reviewing them here....Hoggle is the beauty expert, particularly make-up, though Mimi is a little partial to moisturising and perfume.

We have had a little shopping spree via Next, Primark and even a few bargains from eBay so hope you will find are views on fashion useful....as you can imagine out tastes will vary; there is a 19 year age gap in our taste, though you wont find a pinny or slippers (unless they're the cute furry type) in our purchases! Also in our boofiloo haul we have some munchkin bits for your little prince or princess and maybe even some worthy comments from our munchkins on their fave items.

As you are all (hopefully)  aware Christmas is making its sparkly presence known (shhhh don't mention sparkly to Mimi, she just lurves a bit of sparkle).  So we will have a few pressies for the munchkins and will show you our boofiloo haul of these, if you  promise not to spill the beans to them ....remember Santa's the word!

Mimi has some good tips to hand out on Christmas shopping and what to buy the most awkward of rellies, whilst Hoggle can give you some hints and ideas for the Christmas outfit to knock em dead...well not quite dead but leaving people in know doubt that you are the mistress of the Christmas fashion fest!

Finally we will try to pop in a few more pic's of the boofiloo mummies and munchkins and if you have a question or two please comment below.

A few features to look out for:
Best buy of the month: Each of us and the munchkins will decide what is our fave buy and why
Both boofiloo mummies love to read so there will be a few book reviews and even the odd movie we like
Hoggle is quite creative and so may have an idea or two to share
Mimi is doing a creative writing course so will update you on how she is doing and when the first best seller will be on the shelves
Munchkin moments.....these will be those little gems that either make you laugh or run in embarrassment
Plenty of pics and a weekly video
Crafty ideas for the kids on pintrest....results of these will be posted for your comments

Well the sheep are waiting patiently at the gate...counting time begins shortly.

So good night all you boofiloo people...pleasant dreams.
